The food: French
Bresson Dublin

Upmarket French bistro in Monkstown from chef Temple Garner (formerly Town Bar and Grill and San Lorenzo's) and Conor Kavanagh (formerly of The Old Spot). It's where Monkstown favourite Seapoint used to be, but the room has had a beautiful overhaul. Classic French dishes like Bouillabaisse, Coquilles Saint-Jacques and Tart Tatin with an extensive selection of wine and cocktails.

CRITIC REVIEWS

Gillian Nelis, The Sunday Business Post

"I’m at a loss as to what has happened at Bresson since it opened amid a slew of positive reviews a few months back. The room itself is gorgeous ... and the service from the friendly staff is excellent. But on this occasion, neither could make up for what we’d been served, and that is a real pity."

"Bresson sees the return to Dublin's restaurant offering of classic-with-a-twist old school French food, impeccably executed." Food 9/10. Value 8/10.

Lucinda O'Sullivan, Sunday Independent

"Duck a l'orange was a far cry from the old wallop of half duck drowned in a sickly sweet orange sauce ... The richness of the bird was offset by the bitterness of divine confit Seville orange peel, blood orange and basil salad, candied endive, duck-fat roasties and star anise. Duck heaven."

Tom Doorley, Irish Daily Mail

"...an impeccably trimmed piece of monkfish was lovingly wrapped in the sweetest Bayonne ham and cooked to the nanosecond of milky white, moist perfection. With crisp cubes of duck fat potatoes, this was bistro cooking as simple as it was perfectly executed."
