The food: Modern Irish
Farmhill closed.jpg

Neighbourhood bistro with Chef Anita Thoma at the helm, formerly of Italian restaurant Il Primo (now closed) where she became famous for her risottos. The menu at Farmhill is Italian meets Irish, with slow-cooked beef and pine nut cannelloni next to fish finger sandwiches, and of course risotto. Great value early-bird with two courses for €17.

CRITIC REVIEWS

Catherine Cleary, The Irish Times

"City dwellers don’t live cheek by jowl with farms anymore. But if we’re lucky a chef will bring the best of those farms to the table and that’s what we have in Farmhill." 8/10

Gillian Nelis, The Sunday Business Post

20 May 2017

"Half of south Dublin may decamp to holiday homes in sunnier climes over the summer, but with Thoma cooking great value food like this, there should still be plenty of bums on seats at Farmhill."

Katy McGuinness, Irish Independent

"Farmhill does exactly what a neighbourhood restaurant is supposed to do, and does it very well, at a fair price." Food 7/10. Value 8/10.
