Leslie Williams, Irish Examiner

"Host is perfectly suited to Ranelagh but in fact would work in any neighbourhood on the planet — tasty, well thought out dishes served in a convivial atmosphere."

Tom Doorley, Irish Daily Mail

"I liked Host and we were highly impressed by the friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic service. It’s a place to which I’d happily return and it’s certainly a bonus for Ranelagh."

Catherine Cleary, The Irish Times

24 Feb 2018

"Host is young but fully formed. It has the ambition and reach of a city centre place but the elbow room and comfort of a restaurant beyond the canals ... It’s the restaurant for which Old Ranelagh has been waiting." 8/10.

Katy McGuinness, Irish Independent

10 Feb 2018

"...pumpkin cappellacci and sage was a beauty; the hat-shaped pasta - a speciality of Ferrara - filled with impeccably seasoned pumpkin, topped with toasted walnuts that brought both texture and delicious flavour, and finished with sage leaves and a cloud of finely-grated Parmesan. I would go back for this alone." Food 8/10. Value 8/10.

"Following up with two small pasta plates, the first had thick ribbons of papardelle in a duck ragu (€11) while linguine was amply tossed with mussels and crab (€11), both of which were tasty."
