The food: Café
One Society Shakshouka Baked Eggs.JPG

Great addition to a pretty barren part of the North city centre, with breakfast, lunch, brunch and pizza in the evenings. Speciality coffee and carefully chosen ingredients, including beef from the owner’s sister’s farm in Meath.

"Food grounds this cafe in a place and connects it to places further afield. The result is a simple lunch, like carvery without the snooze button. It is hope for a future which might not be as generic as the developments that surround it." 8/10.

Tom Doorley, The Irish Daily Mail

"...brisket and greens were outstanding. The meat, slow-cooked to the point of disintegration was ‘pulled’ into strands, bathed in its own sticky juices which had been warmly seasoned with cumin. And there was perfectly cooked purple sprouting broccoli, just in season, and kale made not just palatable but deliciously moreish by the addition of the café’s own almond pesto."
