The food: Fine Dining, Modern Irish

Ex-Chapter One head chef Cathal Leonard moved home to North County Dublin to open Potager with partner Sarah Ryan, and overnight Skerries had a destination restaurant. Situated in a former bank, they showcase the best of the local area’s meat, fish, fruits and vegetables, and the wine cellar is in the old bank vault. We went, we ate, we were blown away, and recommend getting here for the tasting menu before the accolades start rolling in and prices inevitably go up.

"A civilised new restaurant offering a sophisticated food experience without appearing to try too hard." Food 9/10. Value 9/10.

"It won't be long before, like Aimsir, Liath and Mews, you won't be able to get a table here for love nor money - so get in there quick."

"I have one piece of advice regarding Potager. Beat a path to its door. This is no neighbourhood restaurant. It's a destination."

Catherine Cleary, The Irish Times

"Skerries has a real destination restaurant, folks. At €55, this evening tasting menu is the best money you’ll spend on food in Dublin." 9/10.
