Where to go for a Sunday roast in Dublin
Fun fact: More people come to allthefood.ie from Google via the search term "Sunday roast Dublin" than anything else, and despite our capital historically lacking in Sunday roast culture (particularly when compared to our UK friends over the ocean), reading through this you might agree with us that's changed.
There have always been the stalwarts keeping us in quality beef and shattering roasties over a pint and the papers, but others have traditionally phoned it in with greying meat, uncrisp potatoes and veg that needs resuscitating. In 2026 however Dublin's roast options have never been better, and here's the cream(y mash) of the crop...

The new additions
Kaldero, King Street South
Sunday service is live at Kaldero, and this isn't your average striploin and roasties, This is Sunday roast Filipino-style - we're talking Salter's free range pork belly with lemongrass and burnt apple; braised oxtail with peanut sauce and bagoong, or a Feighcullen Farm whole chicken to share with kalamansi and anatto. Don't worry though, there are still spuds - fried Ballymakenny beauties with spicy palapa mayo - and loads of other bites to pad out a leisurely lunch. Read our review here.

Gaffe @ Leonard's Corner
We might have left waxing on about the burger, but Sunday lunch at Gaffe in Leonard's Corner is another reason to visit the "bistro in a pub" on this buzzy corner of D8. Chef Dan Chambers keeps thing relatively simple, with a dishes like a half roast chicken and jus, and porchetta and salsa verde, and there's always a veggie option too. Sides like crispy potatoes and spring greens, a short list of small plates, and a single dessert complete the line up, and you'll do a full three courses in here for around €40. The Libertine, Clanbrassil Street
Across the road, Gaffe's gastropub competition The Libertine have also entered the Sunday lunch chat, with their Sunday sharers menu. It changes weekly but we've seen sharing steaks, racks of lamb, and a lamb shepherds pie with a parmesan crust, all served with bacon cauliflower cheese; thyme and garlic roast root veg, and crispy potatoes. The cocktails are excellent too if it's one of those Sundays. Read our review here.
